Distillato di amarena Weichsel Zu Plun

CHERRY DISTILLATE WEICHSEL

Cherry distillate. The name Weichselkirsche is commonly used in German-speaking areas of the Alpine region. As in the case of apricot and quince apple also this tree, now grown all over the world, originally comes from Asia. The Zu Plun cherry distillate is produced using fruit from the Marasca cherry tree, an autochthonous sour cherry variety in Dalmatian coastal regions, which nowadays is also grown in Slovenia and northern Italy. Compared to other cherries this fruit is smaller and drier. The raw material used for distillation comes from trees in the sun-facing plateaus around Fiè allo Sciliar, in the Verona areas, as well as from Valpolicella. The cherries stay on the tree until the ideal ratio for distillation between sugars and acids in the fruit has been reached, then handpicked.
The distillate is characterized by multi-layered complex fruit aromas, accompanied by surprising notes, reminiscent of marzipan and chocolate.
