Grappa moscato Dolomites muscat fine old

DOLOMITES MUSCAT FINE OLD

Moscato is part of traditional heirlooms and is produced in all colour shades, the best known of which is the light white wine with its subtle peppery raisin note. The Moscato Grappa by Zu Plun includes three vine varieties, which make it a truly special distillate: yellow, gold and pink Moscato. The pink Moscato gives this distillate its soft, fruity basis and at the same time a powerful backbone – ideal to compensate the sometimes too flowery bouquet of gold Moscato. The yellow Moscato gives it a complex, plump-grapy twist, thus stimulating the sensorial medium. This specialty is stored for three years in various sweet wine barrels from Burgenland, France and Spain. Ideal are those which have been used for the exquisite sweet white wine from Sauternes, which are best suited to complement the aroma of our Moscato Grappa.

  • Raw material: pomace produced by several wine growers along the South Tyrol wine route
  • Distillation method: discontinuous, distilled twice, heated in a water bath using a copper still
  • Storage/ageing: 3 years
  • Alcohol content: 45% VOL.
  • Content: 0.50 l
  • Colour-clearness: golden yellow with warm amber hues, clear
  • Nose: typical nutmeg and raisin Moscato nose, supported by a light vanilla smoked wood tone
  • Palate: persistent, complex aroma structure, strong finish with outstanding tobacco notes
  • Suggestion: it is best served at room temperature, ideally with chocolate refined using sea salt but also with mature hard cheese, nuts and dried fruit. It is also worth trying Moscato Grappa Old with cognac in cocktail classics such as the Old Fashioned.
